I'm 39, and was first diagnosed as an epileptic when I was 2. I have been taking anti-epileptic meds of some form ever since. My current meds are carbamazapine and sodium valproate.

In the last year or so, I have started to become sexually active. However, I have noticed that i may have some symptoms of ED. I have read a study on the internet, that says that long term use of anti-epileptic drugs can cause ED. (By Michelle V. Lambert - titled "Seizures, hormones and sexuality")

My question is, how safe is it to take ED drugs in conjunction with anti-epileptic medication? Are there known interactions to be aware of? Has there been a study done comparing ED meds with people taking anti-epileptic medication?

Any first-hand accounts I'd like to hear from as well.
