HPV is not spread through breastfeeding. Period.

HPV is a virus that infects genital skin cells. It does not infect the breasts. You have no worries. Your children did not get HPV from breastfeeding.

Newborn babies have all kinds of strange skin lesions and such... these bumps have nothing to do with HPV. (Plus genital strains of HPV don't cause warts anywhere else on the body except the genitals.)

I am 29yrs. old I have 3 kids an 8yr old an 4 yrold and a newborn. My husband recently had gone to the doctor and was told he had genital warts, at about 35 weeks into the pregnancy I broke out and realized I had them also. I asked if when I had my baby it would be ok to breast feed and they said it would be fine. I had a c-section with all 3 of my kids, so I dont think that they would have gotten the virus from me, but I have breastfed all 3. I dont know how long we have had this for. I am very worried now that my kids might have this, most concern I am worried about my infant, I've been breastfeeding her and a week ago I noticed two tiny white bumps(they feel hard) on her cheek. Iam now very stressed and worried thinking that I gave her warts and I have no idea what to do. She has an appointment in 2 weeks so I guess they'll check and see what they can be. Could have I given her warts from breastfeeding her, breastfeeding has always known to be the best for babies and now I feel like I could of damaged her instead of helping her. If they turn out to be warts what happens to her will she always have them? Is there anything I can do? Should I not breastfeed anymore? Can I give her my breastmilk in a bottle? Please I need answers...How do I find out if I gave it to any of my 3 kids since they all have been breastfed?

Well I have continued to breastfeed her after I read your respond. I read somewhere else that you can get genital warts anywhere on the skin, if it's came in contact with the warts, for example your hands. Can this be true? I would like to know for sure, How can I find out?
