I'm in the boat with ya... chart your BBT to make sure that you are ovulating and look for cervical mucus. Have you had a normal period since going off the pill (assuming you were on it)? i have been told that it takes 12 hours to build up the sperm count again after you have sex, so doing it every day will not hurt. You should especially do it every day when you are ovulating. Remember that it can take some couples 12-18 months to get pregnant. My prob is abnormal ovulation, I think. You could always go see your OB-GYN for a preconception visit to make sure everything is in order. GOOD LUCK!!!

Every day is slightly better than every other day if there are no known problems with DH's sperm.

Ovulation calendars are not the most accurate of tools. They assume that you will ovulate 14 days before the day you expect your next period, based on what you enter as your cycle length. You may or may not actually be ovulating at this time.

A better way to go about it would be to chart your Basal Body Temperature (BBT). That lets you know when and if you ovulate. You can learn more about charting at WebMD Fertility Center. It's also recommended that you read Toni Weschler's book "Take Charge of Your Fertility" which is commonly referred to as the TTC bible around here.

Even with perfect timing, ovulation happening, great sperm, and open tubes, the sperm and the egg still have to meet, fertilize properly, implant properly, and continue to grow. A rough guess 20% chance each month is still pretty amazing, IMO.

Here's an article that explains more about those "odds": What are my chances of getting pregnant soon?

I hope that helps,
