Last night, my 2 year old son took a nose dive on a flight of stairs and lost two of his front-bottom teeth. 'Lost' in the sense we found two of his teeth on the floor. They are not broken; they are ripped off their root. (We zip-locked them in case we need.) He bled and cried for 5 minutes and doing perfectly fine after that. I took him to his pediatrician this morning who referred to a pediatric-dentist for a possible 'spacers'. She raised a concern about other teeth not having enough support in their growth or something. Should we worry about these missing teeth for support or chewing or anything else? I appreciate any input on this. Thanks in advance.

I know that this post is late, but I thought I'd share info anyway. I have two friends whose toddlers had the same thing happen (except to their 2 top front teeth!), and their permanent teeth came in just fine, without any spacers or anything, and they didn't have any problems chewing when the teeth were missing. Now, of course your son's situation could be very different, but hopefully this will give you some consolation. Take care. Judy
