Well I am on my second week of new meds for BP and 4th week of new meds for my diabeties and....I feel like crap! I think I am going to be thin ) I feel like I am going to vomit ALL the time! I am taking 200mg of metformin & 20mcg of Byetta for my Diabeties which I THINK is the main source of stomach issues...But I would like to see if anyone has had digestive issue with the following: I am thankful after reading some of the side effects from Lithium that he did not start me on that...It was his first choice but because of my diabities and my current kidney function that was not an option. Soooo I am now taking Tegretol, Luvox, and Klonipin (sp?) I am surprised that my mood swings are much better so quickly...and my rage/anger has been improved tremendously! I think my kids herd me laugh this week! Just curious to see if anyone else had digestion issues....ohh man I think 12 pills and 2 shots is to much to digest just thinking about it! Oh and the tegretol is chewable which I just swallow but yuck the after taste is nasty...does anyone know if it comes in a different form? Thanks for any thoughts!

I am not sure why but anytime I have started a med or upped my dosage..side effects have gone right to my stomach. When I first went on Wellbutrin, I barely ate for a month. But it did go away. Just took a few weeks for me to adjust to them.

Ask your pharmacist or pdoc about the tegretol. If you are supposed to chew it, then that is what you really should do. As yucky as it is. My klonopin is a pill that disolves on my tongue. I dont' know why but I don't like it. Tastes ok but I just want to pop all my pills at once and be done with it. lol

Hope you feel better. Don't hesitate to call your pdoc/doc if you have questions on the side effects. Take care.

the chewable form of tegretol is a specific dose that i don't think you can get in any other form. carbamazapine is the generic form of tegretol. you could try switching to the generic form. talk to your pdoc about it. or you can get your meds in a different dose and cut them in half. tell your pdoc about it and see what you can do.
