I am a third of the way through my 33 radiation treatments for breast cancer and am starting to experience skin irritation and reddening of the breast and nipple. My doctor and nurse have suggested Lubriderm but this seems a bit simplistic - does anyone have any other suggestions?

Aquafor was what had been suggested for me...That and pure aloe. Other than a bit of pinkness toward the end, I didn't have too much trouble. However, many of our members have, and some have had their treatment postponed until the skin had a chance to recover a little. If you are concerned, ask if you might take a small vacation from it.

Blessings. Rachael

I used aloe for the first several weeks - slathered on right after treatment and again at bed time. Must be clear - no color, no alcohol. When I started having redness, they gave me aquaphor. Used it in place of the aloe. Only had some minor peeling under the boob where sag met chest. Good luck.
