I am experiencing pains in my abdomin and lower back...had colonoscopy app. 2 1/2 weeks ago w/ dx. of diveriticulosis & internal hemmorhoids. Had an abdominal CAT scan app 10 days after colonoscopy and result from that was extensive constipation. My question and hopefully someone knows the answer is How can I have extensive constipation with a CAT scan but not from a previous colonoscopy?? Can you get extensively constipated in just 10 days while having BM every EVERY morning???

Constipation will not generally show up on a colonoscopy, rather the reason for it will sometimes be diagnosed by the colonoscopy. I do think it is odd though that with regular bowel movements that it would be diagnosed with a CAT scan, unless it served as a sort of colorectal transit study and you had slow digestion of the contrast material.
