does anyone know about this drug? my pdoc told me to stop the lamictal and start taking this.

Hi Christina! Tegretol (generic: carbamazapine) is actually an anti-seizure medication which has been commonly used as a mood stabilizer. It has less potential side-effects than the lamictal. Please look it up under the medication section of webMD, and this will tell you more specific information. I've never taken it myself. Good luck, and remember that it takes a few weeks for a new medication to "adjust" with your body's chemistry makeup. Hugs, Deb

used to be on it. it worked pretty good for me, but i had to go off of it because it interacted with other medications
