I had a tummy tuck almost 2 years ago. I have been having stomach muscle cramps along the area where my scar is. It is like the muscle rolls or woads up. Is this normal to happen. It has been doing this for about a year now. The recovery was a fairly easy one and I have hardly any scaring. I have talked with another person who is having the same thing. Is this related to the tummy tuck or just a coincidence? All I know is it is painful when it happens. I was getting a pedicure recently and had to get them to stop so I could bend my leg and get the muscle to relax. Is this something I should see my primary doctor about?

Hi there,

Yes, you can see your primary doctor to find out what is causing you to have abdominal spasms. It's not possible for anyone to be diagnosed over the internet so do see your doctor.

Please use the Symptom Checker tool to look up abdominal problems as you may be able to find articles relevant to your questions.

Read more about Abdominoplasty including possible complications by using the WebMD search engine.

OMG!!! I just read this post...this is exactly the question I have. I had my tummy Tuck about 4 years ago & yes, the area along the scar rolls or bunches up sometimes...doesn't matter what I'm doing. I just notice it more when I'm lying on my back. I feel like I'm in that movie, The Alien, where the monster comes out of that chick's stomach! It's like something is living in there - so weird. It doesn't hurt; it's just really strange & uncomfortable.
