Weight of the World

A depressing day. Seems like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. Hopeless day. There isn't anything I can do to help. Home computer broken. I work at a job that takes me away from my family and my art. Innocent children are harmed all over the world. Can't focus on work. Can't focus on anything. Just down in the dumps. "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone." She meaning, my happy self. I'd rather take the mania over the depression any day.

Your happy self and sad self are both you and external happenings aren't what makes your mood...you do. Get pro-active and get the computer fixed. Don't sit in front of the tv watching news. Take a day off and do something you want to do. Go to a movie, an art gallery. Eat lunch alone and watch people. bring a camaera and do real research for your art. Watch and listen to people. Focus on them. Delight in small discoveries. Come home filled with wonderment. The outcome of this day is up to you. Joye

Agree with Joye but also just wanted to send you hugs, because I know that feeling all too well.

What I say to myself is...what will make me happy at the end of the day? If it is doing laudry, I do it. If it is scrapbooking all day, I do that. And let everything else go (as best I can). The other thing I say to myself is..just do it.

Take care and hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Hugs, J

I know how it is when you are on a job that just seem to drain your spirit sometimes. When you're already down and then you are on a job all day that just isn't what you want to be doing really makes things seem...well...worse. I've been there! Its hard to look towards a better future when you are in this period. But, that is exactly when you have to make yourself do when you don't feel like doing. I didn't understand that before. But it does really work! It takes a little time...but it does work. Even if you don't feel like doing the things you truly enjoy because your spirit is so low, do it anyway. Your happy self wants to do it. Why not give her what she wants. Right? Big Hugs!
