To All parents of Teens, think about this scenario and then follow up with what you think is best.

We just lost a beautiful girl to a heroin OD. The wake and the funeral are now over, but so is her life. We still have to go on, as her father declared "well we have so many memories, but we can't make any new ones".....

She was an outgoing girl, pretty, popular amongst her friends and peers and was very caring about other people and what was going in with them.

NO ONE knew she was snorting heroin, and now we will never know why.

One thing I did find out was that heroin is ALL OVER THE USA, for teens to use and for many its their drug of choice. Not used with needles, but for smoking it or sniffing it up their nose.

She was NOT the type of girl you would think of when you imagined someone using heroin. She was suburban, and held her job, graduated from school, and did all the right things! But...she still died of heroin.

So....if you have teens, dont say it couldnt happen to your child because they would know better! She did know better and got angry when her friend had used an opiate, calling her stupid.

Please, if you hear any talk about her friends getting high, or your teen acts high, dont tell yourself it might be POT. Todays pot is laced with all sorts of drugs anyways, and what if your teen is caught in the same thing that mine was? NO ONE KNEW, that we know of. Dont let your phone ring in the middle of the night, to hear that your child is in hospital, and you had better come right away, only to find them on tubes, but hearing the words brain dead.

KEEP a CLOSE EYE, and TALK to YOUR CHILDREN about drugs. Heroin isnt just for homeless street junkies...its all over the schools, and its a very silent epidemic. WHY? Because most people think their kids wont do it, they know better. Then, when they do find out, they dont want to say the word Heroin.

but I am saying it. HEROIN KILLS kids that you would never have believed could use it.

Please remember....kids are sneaky who use drugs, so put up your "parent atteneas" and get out of denial, next time it might be your phone that rings at 3am, telling you to come now!

Its easy to go on AutoPilot when our older teens are seemingly together. And they know it, that we can easily go on Auto pilot with them.,

so my plea is to anyone who reads this, keep an eye on your kid and their friends, and do whatever you have to to possibly be saving their life.

After all, the FDA isnt making sure the drug dealers use appropriate doses, or only give non lethal doses one at a time.

I wish someone had for her, and I know she would want you to Keep an eye out for what is going on right in front of you, but the signs are unknown to you.

I didnt write this to receieve answers, I just hope you all keep your eyes open about your teens and drugs. its not pot....now, its become heroin, and of course, the old standby cocaine. sometimes, together.

Good Luck to all of you.
